The type of information that we collect depends on your interaction and relationship with us. We collect personal information that you provide, that we collect automatically, and that we receive from service providers, advertising partners, and lead-generation platforms. The types of information we may collect include:

Contact and identity information, such as your name, phone number, email address, service address, billing address, and other contact details.

Service and property information, such as pest issues, service history, service plan details, property size, access instructions, gate information, pets, special service notes, technician notes, inspection findings, and treatment records.

Communications information, such as phone calls, call recordings, text messages, emails, website chat messages, customer support messages, estimate communications, opt-in and opt-out records, and communication preferences.

Lead and inquiry information, such as information submitted through our website, quote requests, web forms, website chat, phone calls, text messages, referrals, social media, home shows, trade shows, door-to-door interactions, and third-party lead-generation and marketplace platforms.

Website, device, and tracking information, such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, form submissions, phone call clicks, menu interactions, session activity, cookies, pixels, analytics identifiers, advertising identifiers, and similar digital activity information. This includes information collected through session-replay, website recording, and chat technologies that may record mouse movement, scrolling, page interactions, and chat conversations.

Audio/Visual Data, such as audio, electronic, photographic visual, or similar data including videos, photographs, and audio recordings.

Geolocation and routing information, such as service address location, route optimization information, technician dispatch information, and field or sales activity information associated with service delivery or sales operations.

Sensitive personal information, as defined by applicable law, may include precise location information in limited circumstances, payment information, customer portal credentials, and call recordings. We use sensitive personal information only for permitted purposes, such as providing services, processing payments, safety, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, and legal compliance.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information when you request a quote or service; submit a website form; use website chat; call, text, or email us; sign a service agreement; interact with a sales representative or technician; attend a home show, trade show, or promotional event; communicate through platforms such as Yelp, Google, Thumbtack, Angi, or HomeAdvisor; provide payment information; schedule, receive, or cancel services; respond to marketing or reactivation campaigns; interact with our website, ads, or digital content; or communicate through social media or third-party lead platforms.

Telephone calls are recorded for quality assurance, training, compliance, dispute resolution, and customer service purposes. We record calls only where an automated disclosure informing the caller that the call may be recorded is played at the start of the call and before recording begins, consistent with two-party/all-party consent requirements in California, Florida, and other applicable states.

3. Sources of Personal Information

We collect information from the following sources:

Directly from You. We may collect information that you provide directly to us.

Social Networks and Platforms. Depending on the information you choose to share and the privacy settings on your social media accounts, most social media platforms analyze data about how you interact with our website and combine it with information they have about you. These platforms may provide information to us and other parties. Additionally, we may receive information about you if you or other users interact with us on social media and information about you is visible to us.

Ad, Analytics, and Data Providers. We may receive information about you from third parties that provide us with online advertising, data analytics, or similar services, such as Google Analytics. This includes when we conduct email campaigns, receive information collected through our website, and receive information and inferences such as website trends, usage, and statistics.

Lead-Generation Platforms. We may receive contact and inquiry information about you from third-party lead-generation and marketplace platforms when you request a quote or service through those platforms. Please review the privacy policies and consent disclosures of the applicable platform to understand how your information is collected before it is shared with us.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to service, inspect, treat, and monitor your property; schedule, confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments; send technician arrival notices, reminders, access instructions, and safety notices; process payments and manage billing; maintain accounts and service history; prepare estimates; provide customer support; respond to inquiries and disputes; send service-related and permitted marketing communications; conduct reactivation, upsell, and follow-up campaigns; analyze website and advertising performance; measure conversions and attribution; build retargeting and lookalike audiences where permitted; improve our website, services, and operations; manage technicians, routes, scheduling, and field operations; prevent fraud and security incidents; comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, licensing, and safety obligations; and for other purposes disclosed at collection or with your consent.

We may also use data that we collect on an aggregated or anonymous basis (meaning that it does not identify any individuals) for various purposes, where permitted by law, to help deliver service, and for other purposes.

In the 12 months preceding the last updated date above, we have not used or disclosed sensitive personal information for purposes to which the right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive information applies as described in Section 7027(m) of the California Consumer Privacy Act Regulations.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to service providers and third parties that help us operate the business, including customer relationship management, scheduling, route, dispatch, technician workflow, and field service platforms; payment processors and billing providers; SMS, email, phone, website chat, automated follow-up, estimate follow-up, and customer support platforms; marketing, advertising, direct mail, retargeting, lead reactivation, customer matching, campaign measurement, and attribution providers; analytics, call tracking, website technology, accessibility, and conversion tracking providers; lead-generation and referral platforms; professional advisors; government agencies, regulators, and legal parties; and parties involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • To our service providers.
  • To social networks and platforms as well as ad, analytics, and data providers.
  • To government entities. This may include for purposes of cooperating with law enforcement when we think it is necessary, obtaining legal remedies or limiting our damages, and enforcing or protecting our contractual or other legal rights, including by responding to claims against us.
  • To corporate transaction recipients, including potential investors, purchasers, and their advisors or representatives in the event we consider selling, reorganizing, or transferring our business, ownership interests, or assets; or are soliciting or accepting investments.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, some of our advertising, retargeting, analytics, and customer-list upload activities, including uploading customer contact lists to Meta and Google for retargeting and lookalike audiences, may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising under certain privacy laws.

6. Marketing Communications

HomeShield may contact you by phone call, text message, email, website chat, mail, or other electronic means regarding your account, services, appointments, estimates, billing, customer support, safety notices, re-treatment requests, and other service-related matters.

We may also send marketing or promotional communications, including special offers, seasonal promotions, reactivation campaigns, estimate follow-ups, review requests, and similar messages, where permitted by law and where any required consent has been obtained. Your consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of purchasing our services.

HomeShield uses automated and manual communication tools. Based on our current operations, the substantial majority (approximately 90%) of our communications are sent automatically through audience rules, service triggers, or workflow automations, without individualized human review before sending. Triggers may include unbooked leads, cancelled appointments, cancelled customers, time elapsed since service, and open estimates. We also use Smarter Launch to generate and follow up on estimates for certain services, including termite and fumigation estimates.

We may use platforms such as FieldRoutes, Hatch, Smarter Launch, and similar tools to send or manage communications. Messages may be sent from HomeShield business-associated phone numbers that route back to our call center.

You may opt out of receiving marketing communications as described below. Because Hatch and FieldRoutes are not directly integrated and some systems are synced through periodic uploads (currently daily) rather than a real-time integration, there may be a brief delay before an opt-out is reflected across every system. You may also contact us directly at team@homeshieldpestcontrol.com to confirm or update your communication preferences. Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent us from sending non-marketing service, billing, safety, legal, or account-related communications where permitted by law.

Marketing Emails

You may opt out of marketing or advertising emails by using the “unsubscribe” link or mechanism noted in the emails that you receive from us.

Marketing Phone Calls

You may choose to opt in to receiving marketing phone calls at the telephone number you share with us. This includes calls made using automated telephone dialing systems or prerecorded messages. This consent applies even if your telephone number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. To opt-out of receiving marketing calls, please contact us at team@homeshieldpestcontrol.com or (833) 979-7378.

SMS, MMS, Text, and other Digital Messaging

You have the choice to opt in to receiving messages from us on the mobile phone number you share with us. Where your number is submitted to us through a third-party lead-generation or marketplace platform rather than directly through our own website or intake forms, your consent to receive automated marketing text messages from HomeShield is obtained by that platform at the time you submit your information, and we rely on that platform’s consent disclosure and records. We encourage you to review the terms presented by the referring platform at the time you requested a quote.

If you choose to opt-in, we, and our service providers, will send you messages in various formats including text messages alerts, short message service messages, and any other mobile transmissions. These messages may include marketing, promotional, and service-related communications. Message frequency may vary. Standard messaging and data charges may apply. You may choose to opt out at any time. It is your sole responsibility to notify us if you no longer want to receive automated messages.

Your mobile opt-in data and consent to receive text messages will not be shared with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share opt-in data (1) with our service providers, consultants and other vendors who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf; (2) if we believe disclosure is required by law; or (3) otherwise with your consent.

You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP and may request help by replying HELP. In Hatch, a STOP request removes the customer from HomeShield campaigns within Hatch, and the customer may opt back in at any time replying START. In FieldRoutes, opt-outs are reflected by placing an exclusion flag on the customer account, which is applied across all outbound audiences to prevent further contact.

7. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Digital Advertising

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, software development kits, analytics tools, call tracking tools, session-replay and website-recording technologies, chat and messaging widgets, and similar technologies to operate our website, understand how visitors interact with our content, measure advertising effectiveness, route inquiries, improve user experience, and deliver or measure targeted advertising.

These tools may collect information such as IP address, device information, browser type, page views, form submissions, phone call clicks, top menu interactions, session activity, referring URLs, and advertising identifiers. If you would like more information on how these tools use your data, please visit their specific privacy policies. You can receive a full list of such tools that we use by contacting us at team@homeshieldpestcontrol.com.

We may upload customer contact information, such as email addresses and phone numbers, to Meta, Google, Hatch, or similar platforms for retargeting, lookalike audiences, customer matching, advertising attribution, and related marketing purposes. Under California law, some of these activities may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through our cookie banner or preference tools. You may also use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website to opt out of certain targeted advertising and sharing activities. Where feasible, exercising this opt-out will also cause us to cease including you in future customer-list uploads to advertising platforms for retargeting and lookalike audience purposes; you may also request removal from lists already uploaded by contacting us at team@homeshieldpestcontrol.com.

Some browsers or browser extensions allow you to tell websites not to share your information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising through the “Global Privacy Control” or other opt-out preference signals. If you have enabled Global Privacy Control or an opt-out preference signal on your browser or extension, we will honor such requests that can be recognized by our website by disabling targeting and cross-context behavioral advertising cookies in a frictionless manner. However, please note that we may not be readily able to associate an opt-out preference signal with other personal information such as your email address. You will also only be opted out of online sales or sharing of personal information and will need to turn it on for each browser you use.

Some browsers have a “do not track” feature. It lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want them to track your online activity. These features are not yet uniform across browsers. Our website is not currently set up to respond to these signals.

Google Analytics. Our website uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with our content. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit our website, what pages you view, and what other sites you visited before coming to our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout . For more information on how Google uses data when you use our website, visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Google Ads. We use Google Ads and Google remarketing tools to display advertisements to you on third-party websites after you visit our website. You may opt out of personal advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com or by visiting the Network-Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org.

Meta/Facebook. We use Meta technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure advertising effectiveness, deliver targeted ads, and build audiences. Data collected through Meta technologies may be use by Meta in accordance with Meta Data Policy. You may manage your Meta ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences or opt out of interest-based ads from Meta and other participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info.

Session Recording. We use session-recording and website-analytics technologies that may capture your mouse movements, scrolling behavior, keystrokes (excluding sensitive fields such as passwords and payment information), and page interactions to help us understand how visitors use our website and improve the user experience. These recordings do not capture payment card numbers or passwords.

Website Chat. Our w includes a chat feature that may collect your name, phone number, email address, and the content of your chat messages. Chat messages may be used to respond to your inquiry, schedule services, and follow up on your requests.

8. Payment Processing

HomeShield may collect payment information to process initial service fees, recurring monthly charges, authorized add-on services, taxes, fees, and other amounts due. We may use FieldRoutes Payments / FSH Payments LLC, third-party payment processors, and related payment services to process payments.

Payment information may be tokenized and stored by FieldRoutes, FieldRoutes Payments, or their payment processing partners. HomeShield does not use payment information for unrelated purposes.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service history, warranty, legal, tax, billing safety, compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Where we process personal information for marketing purposes, we process the data until you ask us to stop and for a short period after this (to allow us to implement your requests). We also keep a record of the fact that you have asked us not to send you direct marketing so that we can respect your request in the future. HomeShield currently maintains customer and lead data in its CRM and may mark leads as closed, lost, or not interested so they are removed from active campaigns. We are continuing to evaluate and improve retention and deletion processes to support privacy rights requests and operational needs.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, payment tokenization, vendor controls, secure systems, and internal procedures.
